A man was left utterly flabbergasted after a slapped him with an extra fee for daring to point out they'd served him the wrong pint.

He shared his baffling experience on , recounting how he popped out for a pizza and a couple of beers, only to be hit with a higher bill than anticipated when he mentioned the beer mix-up. He posted: "I got charged a 'b****ing fee' for informing them I was served the wrong beer."

To his astonishment, upon inspecting the receipt, he discovered an additional $5 (£3.77) tacked onto his tab, escalating his total to $24.47 (£18.45).

While some people found the situation hilarious, others argued it was outrageous and would be horrified to spot such a charge on their own .

One commenter remarked: "There's no way they can make you actually pay that, assuming they didn't have a sign out somewhere advertising their 'bitching fee' policy." While another added: "It's interesting that the b****ing fee is taxable in your area. Where I live it's non-taxable."

Someone else chimed in: "It looks like they took $2 (£1.50) off of one of the beers because of the mess up and then added the b***ing fee. I wonder if they did it as a joke then didn't take it off." Meanwhile, another quipped: "That's funny but I'd b**** about a b****ing fee."

This incident follows the story of a woman who was charged a staggering $25 (£20) simply because a waitress cut the birthday cake she brought into the eatery.

TikTok sensation Gigi, known by her handle , shared a birthday cake blunder that left her gobsmacked. Celebrating a mate's birthday, she brought a homemade cake to the restaurant for a surprise treat.

When staff offered to slice it up and serve it, she agreed, only to later discover a sneaky $25 (£20) 'cake-cutting' fee on her bill totalling $126.98 (£103.33).

On TikTok, she expressed her disbelief: "When the server asks if we want the cake we brought cut, thinking she's doing something nice for us... but it was $25. I didn't know this was a thing?".

The charge sparked a debate among users, with some slamming it as "outrageous" while others defended the practice, reminding Gigi that "nothing in life is free".

One user chimed in: "News to me! $25 is way too much and they should have told you first." While another pointed out: "Many restaurants do this but they definitely should have told you about the fee."

A different user argued: "It's obvious. I don't know why people like bringing outside stuff into restaurants."

Meanwhile, someone else compared it to corkage fees, writing: "Some restaurants let you bring in your own bottle of wine but you pay to have it opened. I mean, you're not buying their stuff so?".

Critics also noted that Gigi's receipt already showed a $4.52 (£3.68) service charge, suggesting the restaurant had already been compensated enough for their service.
